Greene County district court, week ending Nov. 7

In Greene County district court sentencing was done in a pair of cases against Michael Lynn Heard Sr, 53, of Jefferson. The sentencing was done as part of a probation revocation in a case from 2010 in which Heard was charged with delivery of cocaine. On that charge, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but the prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation. The probation was revoked and Heard was sent to prison following a hearing Nov. 3.

Heard was sentenced in a case from October 2013 in which he pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief-third degree, amended from criminal mischief-second degree. He was sentenced to two years in prison, concurrent to the sentence in the 2010 case. The fine was waived. A judgment was entered for $5,964.67 court costs, and he paid $2,000 in “other” financial obligations to the court. No disposition was entered on a charge of domestic abuse assault-serious. He was also sentenced to 30 days jail, concurrent, in a case from August 2014 in which he was charged with theft-fifth degree aiding and abetting. The fine and surcharge was waived but a judgment was entered for $606.76 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joel E. Swanson)

Persons pleaded not guilty in district court as follows: Frederick James Lonsdale, 41, of Rippey, possession of methamphetamine-third or subsequent and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance; and Matthew James Cummings, 27, of Jefferos0n, assault-aiding and abetting. A trial date of Dec. 16 was set for Lonsdale. Cummings’ trial date is Jan. 9, 2015.

Information is available since the return of arrest warrants that Anthony Wayne Genovese, 23, of Des Moines, and Hollie Jericka Millard, 23, of Jefferson have been charged with criminal mischief-fourth degree. The warrants were issued Aug. 18 and returned Nov. 3.

Cases were initiated in Greene County district court as follows: Jared Dean Dennhardt, 24, of Jefferson, eluding; Amanda Nicole Christensen, 21, of Fort Dodge, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense; Rafael Partida Jr, 20, of Jefferson, harassment-first degree; Rheise Allen Presnall, 22, of Churdan, assault on a peace officer and gathering where controlled substances are unlawfully used; Maxwell Steven McGlothlen, 21, of Ankeny, driving while license barred, assault on a peace officer and possession of marijuana; Lawrence Shannon O’Neal, 39, of Grand Junction, OWI-second offense and driving while license revoked; Larry Lee Warren Varnell, 21, of Churdan, driving while license barred; and Hossein Kolbehdari, 20, of Ankeny, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, assault on a peace officer and gathering where controlled substances are unlawfully used.
